The story of mountain man is similar to many other self-made stories. It started out when Dave Conner found himself unemployed with a family to feed and rent to pay.

Not knowing what else to do, he turned to selling dried nuts and fruits to neighbors, business offices, and anyone he could find that would give him the time of day. Years ago, Dave and his wife Virginia had made gift baskets on the side to earn some extra money, so Dave took what he knew from that and used it to start what is now known as Mountain Man Nut & Fruit Co.

Dave's ability to deliver fresh, delicious product with fantastic customer service got people talking and it wasn't long before scores of customers were calling and asking when they could expect the next visit from the "Mountain Man." This led to the hiring of more "Mountain Men & Women" to service hungry customers all over Colorado, as well as to the opening of the very first Mountain Man Nut & Fruit Co. retail store where they could sell their tasty collection of nuts, fruits, candies, and chocolates.

As demand grew, franchised Mountain Man stores were opened, more "Mountain Men & Women" were partnered with in other states, and eventually websites were built to help get delicious Mountain Man products to folks all over the United States.

What started as a way to make some extra cash turned into what is now Mountain Man Nut & Fruit Co. 

Mountain Man has always had a simple goal - to offer fantastic product at a fair price. Whether we are roasting cashews, making chocolate covered peanuts, mixing up our latest trail mix, or packaging our favorite candies, we still operate with this goal in mind.
